Political Career

After the fall of Todor Zhivkov's regime in 1989, Siderov became the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Demokratia". Under the slogan "Bulgarians should not face discrimination in their own country", the political union "Attack" swiftly entered the country's political scene. At the helm of this movement is the renowned journalist and political commentator of the private television company "Skat", 49-year-old Volen Siderov. In the recent parliamentary elections, "Attack" secured the 4th place and obtained 21 seats in parliament. However, some observers regard it as an ultra-left organization preaching xenophobia.
