Early Life and EducationWil Myers was born on December 10, 1990, in Thomasville, North Carolina. He developed a passion for baseball from a young age and began showcasing his skills at Wesleyan Christian Academy. By the time he reached high school, Myers was already known as one of the best third basemen in the state. He excelled in multiple positions but showed particular talent in defense.
Professional Career
Instead of pursuing a university education, Myers decided to enter the Major League Baseball (MLB) draft in 2009. Despite the competition, he caught the attention of several teams and was ultimately signed by the Kansas City Royals in the third round, as the 91st overall pick. Meyers' contract with the Royals was met with surprise due to the team's existing outfielders and the substantial $2 million bonus he received as a rookie.
