On December 20, 2005, Amelio joined Lenovo as its President and CEO, overseeing the successful launch of products like the IdeaPad netbook. Amelio's leadership from 2005 to 2009 doubled the company's sales revenue.
Post-Lenovo Career
After Lenovo announced substantial losses in the fourth quarter of 2008, Amelio declined to renew his contract. The company re-engaged Amelio as a consultant until September 2009.
