Ukrainian Rock Band: Bez Obmezhen
Founding and Early Days (1999-2008)Formed in the Western Ukrainian city of Mukachevo in 1999, Bez Obmezhen has undergone several lineup changes throughout its history. The band's front-and-center figure is vocalist Sergey Tanchynets. Primarily performing in Ukrainian, the band made its debut in Mukachevo on January 14, 1999. The initial lineup consisted of Tanchynets, Igor Rybar, Vladislav Vorobets, and Sergey Popovych.
In 2005, Bez Obmezhen participated as the "best new band from Western Ukraine" in the Ukrainian finals of the "Global Battle of the Bands" festival. A year later, the band signed a contract with a producer and launched its professional music career.
First Album and Name Change (2007)
In 2007, the band changed its Ukrainian name "беz ОГРАНИЧЕНИЙ" (Without Limitations) to the English version "Without Limits." They released their debut album, "Underground," which spawned the hit title track and became a regular on the M1 channel's music charts.
Lineup Stabilization and Hockey Anthem (2008-2012)
The band's lineup underwent a shift in 2008 and has remained largely unchanged ever since. In 2011, they released the lyric video for "Raskazy," directed by Oleg Borschyevsky, which aired on the M1 television channel. A year later, they composed and performed the anthem for the hockey club "Berkut," which was accompanied by a music video.
Bez Obmezhen took part in the "Song Unites Us" telethon on the First National TV channel in 2012. The marathon, which lasted 110 hours and featured over 2,000 participants, entered the Guinness Book of World Records and the National Registry of Records of Ukraine.
Collaborations with Film Industry (2012-2013)
In autumn 2012, the band participated in Mykhailo Dobosh's short film "Dream Comes with Faith. Nocturne 1." Tanchynets played the lead role, while Rybar composed the film's soundtrack.
In 2013, the band collaborated with singer Lida Aksenych on the song "Vzletela," which became the soundtrack for Oleg Borschyevsky's short film "Nymphs," screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
Festivals and Various Projects (2013-2015)
Bez Obmezhen performed at the annual "Rok Sich" festival, which promotes Ukrainian rock music, in 2013. They also appeared on the TV program "Music for Adults with Maria Burmaka" and became a regular participant at the annual "Oktoberfest" in Kyiv.
At the end of 2013, the band reverted to its original Ukrainian name, "беz ОГРАНИЧЕНИЙ."
In 2014, they released the song "Mamini Slova" (Mother's Words), dedicated to the heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, a group of protesters who were killed during the 2014 Ukrainian Revolution. The band also embarked on a series of patriotic concerts under the slogan "Without War" and joined other musicians on a tour of cities in the conflict-ridden Donbas region.
Second and Third Albums (2015-2017)
In 2015, Bez Obmezhen presented the dance performance "Sugar Independence," dedicated to the memory of the Heavenly Hundred. Featuring music from the band's earlier works, the performance was accompanied by a ballet troupe from Western Ukraine.
Their third album, "#DIKHAYUTOBOYU" (Breathing You), was released in April 2015. The album included the hit tracks "Naley Mne Vina" and "Zima" and featured collaborations with other Ukrainian musicians.
"X-Factor" and Fourth Album (2016-2017)
In 2016, Bez Obmezhen participated in the seventh season of Ukraine's version of "The X Factor." Their performance of "Bez Nee Nikak" (Without Her No Way) was highly praised by the judges.
Their fourth album, "5 Khvylyn" (5 Minutes), was released in February 2017. It featured collaborations with other artists and was supported by a tour of more than 20 Ukrainian cities.
Continued Success and International Performances (2017-2019)
In September 2017, the band performed a charity concert in London to raise funds for Ukrainian soldiers. They also released the single "Khochesh" (Do You Want It?), which was accompanied by a tour of 17 Ukrainian cities.
In 2018, Bez Obmezhen released their fifth studio album, "Budu s Toboy!" (I'll Be with You!). The album was a critical and commercial success, with the band embarking on an extensive tour of over 40 Ukrainian cities. They also participated in several music festivals, including Bandershtadt and Zakhidfest.
20th Anniversary and Recent Activities (2019-Present)
In 2019, Bez Obmezhen celebrated its 20th anniversary with the release of the singles "Zari Zapylali" (The Embers Burn) and "Moja Krayina" (My Country), which paid tribute to the Heavenly Hundred and the country's struggle for independence.
The band continued to release new music in 2020, including the single "Milliardy" (Billions) and their sixth studio album of the same name. They also toured extensively both in Ukraine and internationally, showcasing their signature blend of rock and pop.
In 2021, Bez Obmezhen released a new single, "Svyatyi Vecher" (Christmas Eve), which became a popular holiday song in Ukraine. The band continues to perform live and record new music, maintaining its status as one of the most beloved and successful rock bands in the country.
