Biography of Yakov Shamshin
Yakov Shamshin was born and raised in Volgograd, Russia. He was raised by his mother, who worked as a machine operator at a factory, as his father left the family before Yakov was born. After finishing school, Yakov decided to pursue a career in acting. Following the advice of a well-known director in Volgograd, he moved to St. Petersburg, known for its renowned theater school, and was accepted into the St. Petersburg Academy of Theatre Arts. In 2005, Yakov Shamshin graduated from the academy and began performing on various theater stages in St. Petersburg.

Theater Career
Yakov Shamshin's early theater roles included playing Felix in the play "Sliding Lucie" at the Satire Theatre on Vasilievsky and Hufshmidt in the play "Spinelessness. An Evening for People with Poor Posture" at the OsobnyaK Theatre. He received the Young Government Prize for Achievements in Cinematography from the Government of St. Petersburg in 2011.

Television and Film Career
Yakov Shamshin made his on-screen debut with a small role as a music producer in the series "OBN." He then had episodic roles in series such as "Secrets of the Investigation" as a policeman, "Echelon" as a courier, and "Mentovskie Voiny" as a skinhead.
His breakthrough role on screen came in 2008 when he portrayed Pavel Pichugov in the war drama "Riorita," directed by Petr Todorovsky. This film tells the story of people who survived the occupation and fought alongside the Soviet Army. Yakov considers this role as one of his favorites, as the topic of the Great Patriotic War is significant to him as a native of the hero city Volgograd.
In 2010, Yakov Shamshin had a successful year, with notable roles in the crime series "Ligovka" as the young intern operative Leonid Samoilov, as well as the film "The Golden Trap" as Bulbash, a despicable villain. He gained widespread recognition for his role as Senior Lieutenant Alexander Suvorov in the series "Investigator" (2010-2011), where he proved his professional competence to his more experienced comrades.
Throughout 2012 and beyond, Yakov Shamshin continued to appear in various television series and films, including "The Death of Spies. The Hidden Enemy," "Passions of Chapaev," and "Traitor." He is known for his ability to portray diverse characters with depth and authenticity.
Personal Life
Yakov Shamshin is married to Emilia, who works as a manager at an elite restaurant in St. Petersburg. They met when Yakov was working as a bartender, and Emilia was an administrator. They have two children together, a daughter named Dasha and a son named Nikita.
