Western Education and International Acclaim

In 1980, Tan's life took a transformative turn as he enrolled in the prestigious Cambridge University to study music. He later attended the Eastman School of Music in 1987, where he honed his skills under the guidance of renowned composers such as Joseph Schwantner, Louis Andriessen, and Alexander Goehr.
