Early Life and Career
Yuri Rozhkov was born on November 12, 1970, and is a native Muscovite. He initially had an interest in radio electronics but failed his entrance exams, which led him to pursue a career as a chef. He studied culinary arts at SPTU No. 19 and began his professional career in 1991 as a sous chef at the Pullman Hotel. After gaining experience, he became a chef at the Palace Hotel, where he quickly rose to the position of head chef.

During this time, Rozhkov further honed his skills through training and internships in France (at the Le Notre school and Patrick Page's restaurant), Sweden (at the Edsbaka Krog restaurant with two Michelin stars), the United States (at the Beef Institute), and finally, England (at Gordon Ramsay's renowned restaurant chain with a total of thirteen Michelin stars). Inspired by his experiences in England, he wrote the book "Yuri Rozhkov: What I Love."
Accolades and Current Work
Yuri Rozhkov has also achieved success through participation in prestigious culinary competitions. In 1996, he was awarded the title of Knight of French Gastronomy, and in the same year, he placed third in a sous-chef competition. In 1990, he won the "Festive Menu" competition. He became the champion of the Russian Culinary Championships in 2000 and placed third in 2001. Since 2003, Rozhkov has been a member of the Guild of Russian Chefs.

In 1998, he returned to his role as the head chef at "Nostalgia" alongside Konstantin Ievlev. In 2001, while working as a chef at "Le Colon," a restaurant specializing in Mediterranean cuisine, Rozhkov developed a unique signature kitchen focused on aromas. It has earned a reputation as a fashionable destination in the capital. Rozhkov describes simplicity as the main principle behind his dishes, believing that most items on the menu should be prepared within 10-15 minutes to ensure absolute freshness. He is also open to customizing dishes or creating individual recipes for guests, given the availability of the necessary ingredients. According to Rozhkov, cooking is easy, requiring only fresh quality products, an artistic approach, and imagination.
