Yvette Vickers was an American actress and model. She was born in 1936 in Kansas City, Missouri, to jazz musicians Charles and Iola Vedder. As a child, Yvette traveled extensively with her parents, but she had aspirations of becoming a writer. Following her dream, she enrolled in the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), majoring in journalism. However, during her studies, Yvette discovered her passion for acting and decided to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

During the same period, Yvette's captivating beauty and sex appeal caught the attention of advertising producers, and she soon began appearing in commercials. In 1950, she made her first film appearance in "Sunset Boulevard," although she was uncredited.
