Biography of Zendaya
Zendaya Coleman is an American actress, singer, dancer, and model. She began her career on the Disney Channel as a typical young talent - an actress, singer, and dancer. Over time, it became clear that Zendaya's ambitions extended much further. By now, she has also produced several new projects for the channel.

Zendaya was born in Oakland, California. From a young age, she spent a lot of time in the local theater where her mother worked. She performed various supporting roles and occasionally appeared on stage. She studied acting at school and at the American Conservatory Theater. Alongside her acting career, Coleman also studied dance and spent about three years in the dance group 'Future Shock Oakland'.

Zendaya got her first taste of success as a teenager when she became a model for 'Macy's' and 'Old Navy'. She also appeared in the music video for Katy Perry's 'Hot n Cold' in the 'Kidz Bop' version. In 2009, Coleman successfully auditioned for the new Disney Channel project, 'Shake It Up', and she landed the role of Rocky Blue. Several songs performed on the show were later released as singles, including the 2011 hit 'Watch Me' with Bella Thorne. In the same year, she released another notable single, 'Swag It Out'.

Zendaya solidified her success on 'Shake It Up' and became the host of the project 'Make Your Mark: Ultimate Dance Off 2011'. She also gained popularity from the 2012 Disney Channel movie 'Frenemies', in which she starred alongside Bella Thorne. In the second season of 'Shake It Up', Zendaya's number of songs noticeably increased, and many of them were included in the separate soundtrack 'Shake It Up: Live 2 Dance'.

Zendaya soon signed a contract with Disney's subsidiary project, 'Hollywood Records', and began working on her first solo album. In early 2013, at the age of 16, she participated in the 16th season of the popular ABC show 'Dancing with the Stars'. Despite being the youngest contestant, she finished in second place. In July 2013, the 'Shake It Up' project came to an end, and Zendaya released her debut self-titled album, which reached the 51st position on the 'Billboard 200'. The album's single 'Replay' was released separately in July and reached the 40th position on the 'Billboard Hot 100', as well as the 18th position on the New Zealand charts.
In the summer of 2014, Zendaya released her own Disney film, 'Zapped', and in early 2014, she filmed a pilot episode for the new Disney project 'K.C. Undercover'. She is set to star in and produce the upcoming project known as 'Super Awesome Katy'. In January 2014, she released a promotional music video for her song 'My Baby', and in February 2014, she released a remix version featuring Ty Dolla Sign. It was announced in May 2014 that Zendaya would be one of the stars of the Disney Channel project 'K.C. Undercover', with filming starting in the summer and the show expected to air in early 2015.
