Early Life and Career

Karl August Credner (1797-1857) was a German Protestant theologian and professor. In 1828, he became a private lecturer in Jena and a full professor in 1830.

Appointment to Gießen

In 1832, Credner was appointed as Professor of New Testament and Church History at the University of Gießen. His research and teachings focused on the New Testament and the history of the biblical canon.

Decline and Death
