Founder and President of the National Yiddish Book Center
Born in Massachusetts in 1955, the creator and president of the National Yiddish Book Center dedicated his life to the preservation and dissemination of Yiddish books. In the 1970s, he pursued his studies in Montreal, focusing on Jewish history.
Establishment of the National Yiddish Book Center
In 1980, he embarked on a mission to establish a project dedicated to safeguarding Yiddish literature. With the support of individuals from the United States and Canada, he founded the National Yiddish Book Center.
Growing Collection and Online Accessibility
Over the years, the center's collection has expanded to include over 1.5 million Yiddish books. To ensure wider accessibility, more than 10,000 of these valuable texts are now available online through the center's digital platform.
