He set up his own workshop and crafted all the necessary tools for his work. Perrelet proved to be a true virtuoso, creating unique watches, with each detail being the result of his meticulous work. Soon, he gained fame and became known as one of the most talented master watchmakers. He even had apprentices, many of whom went on to become accomplished masters themselves. Among them was his own grandson, Louis-Frédéric Perrelet, who became a watchmaker for the French kings.

In 1770, Abraham-Louis Perrelet created a masterpiece - self-winding watches, a revolutionary invention that not only became the invention of the century but also immortalized the master's name. Perrelet passed away in 1826, having created his final watches just two years before his death at the age of 95.
