Abzal Azhgaliyev: Biography

Abzal Azhgaliyev is a Kazakhstani short track speed skater and a participant of the 2014 Olympic Games. He has achieved notable success in his career, including winning a gold medal in the 500-meter race at the second stage of the Cup in Salt Lake City, USA, in 2016, with a time of 40.373 seconds. He also became a silver medalist in the 500-meter race at the 28th Winter Universiade in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in 2017, with a time of 41.479 seconds. Additionally, he won a silver medal in the 500-meter race at the World Cup stage in Minsk, Belarus, in 2017, with a time of 41.436 seconds.

Participation in International Events

Azhgaliyev has represented Kazakhstan in various international competitions. At the Asian Games in Almaty, he competed in the 5,000-meter relay, and his team secured the third-place podium finish. He also participated in the 5,000-meter relay at the Olympic Games in Sochi, where his team achieved a time of 6 minutes and 54.630 seconds, earning them the fifth-place position.
