Adam Clayton, the bassist of the Irish rock band U2, has received numerous awards throughout his career, including 22 Grammy Awards. Early Life and Career
Adam Clayton was born on March 13, 1960, in the village of Chinnor, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. However, at the age of five, his family moved to Malahide, a town in County Dublin, Ireland. Clayton is a British citizen but has spent most of his life in Ireland.
Clayton is renowned for his bass guitar playing in songs such as "New Year's Day" and "With or Without You." In addition to his work with U2, he has also been involved in several solo projects, including composing the music for the 1996 film "Mission: Impossible" alongside his bandmate Larry Mullen Jr.

Personal Life
Adam Clayton has had an eventful personal life. He is the oldest child of Brian and Joe Clayton and was born in Chinnor, Oxfordshire. The Clayton family moved to Malahide, where his brother Sebastian was born. They became close friends with the Evans family, whose sons, Dick and Dave (known as The Edge), were members of the original band "Feedback" that later evolved into U2.
Clayton has been romantically involved with British supermodel Naomi Campbell and Suzanne Smith, a former assistant of Paul McGuinness. He got engaged to Smith in 2006 but they ended their relationship in February 2007. In early 2010, Clayton became a father, which was confirmed by Bono during the 360 Degrees tour. On September 4, 2013, Clayton got married to Brazilian model Mariana Teixeira de Carvalho, whom he had been dating for four years. They got engaged during the famous Brazilian Carnival. The wedding took place in Dublin. The couple welcomed their daughter, Alba, in July 2017.
