Biography of Adelaide Negri

Adelaide Negri is an Argentine opera singer of Italian origin. Despite her successful career as a soprano, it is interesting to note that Negri actually earned a law degree from the University of Buenos Aires before becoming an artist. She studied vocal and acting techniques at the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón, where she won a gold medal as the best singer and received a scholarship to study at the London Opera Centre for a year.

Operatic Success
Negri made her operatic debut in 1974 at the Teatro Colón, performing in "The Merry Widow" by Lehar. In 2008, Negri made her debut as a producer during a production of "La traviata" at Theatro Sao Pedro in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This marked an exciting new chapter in her career.
