Tragic Accident: Woman Dies After Cardiac Arrest
On January 17, 2023, 48-year-old Adel Barbour was the victim of a fatal car accident near Lincoln. Barbour was behind the wheel of her Vauxhall Meriva when she attempted to make a right-hand turn and collided with an oncoming Toyota Yaris.
Witness Account: Initial Assessment
Arriving paramedic Nicola Ware found Barbour conscious in her car, complaining of back pain. Barbour did not mention any pregnancy, and her bulky coat concealed any potential evidence.
Medical Examination: Misdiagnosis Revealed
As medical personnel continued to examine Barbour, they noticed a protruding abdomen. Assuming she was pregnant, they took precautions during initial resuscitation. However, later at the hospital, it was discovered that Barbour was not pregnant at all.
Medical History and Critical Decision
Previous medical records revealed that Barbour had a history of back problems and chronic leukemia. Due to her unstable condition and concerns about her supposed pregnancy, paramedics decided to transport her to Lincoln County Hospital.
