Early Life and Education

Ernst Lavalle, a renowned German zoologist and histologist, was born in the late 19th century. In 1855, he obtained his doctorate in philosophy and in 1857, his doctorate in medicine.

Academic Career

In 1858, Lavalle became a private lecturer and in 1859, a prosector. By 1862, he had been appointed as an extraordinary professor of anatomy in Bonn, Germany. In 1875, he was promoted to the rank of ordinary professor.
