Childhood and Education
Arseny Romashin was born in Riga, Latvia. His alternative education at Adazi Free Waldorf School emphasized independent research and exploration rather than rote memorization.
Family Background
Arseny's parents, Svetlana and Pavels Romashins, met in 2001. Svetlana is a certified life coach, while Pavels is a self-development coach. Arseny has a stepsister, Eliana, from his mother's previous marriage. His maternal aunt, Irina Pak, is trained in electrical equipment maintenance and repair.
Acting Breakthrough
In 2014, Romashin made his acting debut in the television series "Son." His portrayal of a young boy wrongly accused of abuse earned him critical acclaim. The series explored the complexities of child custody and the clash between Russian and Western perspectives on parenting.
Critical Recognition
Arseny's performance in "Son" was honored with the Best Debut award at the 2017 Sochi International Film Festival and Cinema Awards. The festival featured a diverse selection of films, including award-winning productions and out-of-competition screenings.
Festival Success
"Son" was also recognized at the "Amurskaya Osen" festival, receiving the Audience Award. Additionally, it placed second at the "Ray of Light" competition, which promotes spiritual values in cinema and is guided by the Russian Orthodox Church.
Current Projects
As of June 16, 2021, the highly anticipated series "Son" is set to premiere on Russia's Channel One. The broadcast, initially announced in 2018, has been postponed several times before finally reaching a wide audience.
