Biography of Ahmed Johnson
Ahmed Johnson, born on June 6, 1970, in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, is an American wrestler famously known by his ring name. He trained at the Scott Casey and Ivan Putski school in Houston in the early 90s and made his debut in 1994 in the Global Wrestling Federation under the name Moadib.
Professional Wrestling Career
In 1995, Ahmed began performing in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), which brought him the greatest fame. His first match in WWF, under the name Ahmed Johnson, took place in October 1995 and was a success. He went on to participate in the Survivor series and several other matches. On December 17, Ahmed won a match against Buddy Landel in just 42 seconds and gave interviews afterward. However, during the interview, Jeff Jarrett attacked Ahmed, hitting him hard on the head. Despite the attack, Ahmed quickly regained his composure and ran backstage to confront his assailant, marking the beginning of the rivalry between Jarrett and Ahmed.
In 1996, they faced off in a match, and once again, Jarrett used foreign objects to strike Ahmed on the head, resulting in his disqualification. Even in his injured state, Ahmed chased after his opponent. Later that year, Ahmed defeated Goldust in a match for the Intercontinental Championship title during the King of the Ring competition. However, Ahmed lost the title due to an injury inflicted by Farooq Asad, another wrestler. The injury forced Ahmed to leave the ring for four months.
In 1998, Ahmed announced his departure from WWF. There were rumors that his refusal to lose a match was the reason for his departure, but Ahmed later explained that he left to be with his sister in her final days. Sadly, his sister passed away from cancer a few days after Ahmed's departure from WWF.
Later on, in 1999, Norris signed a contract with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and reached the semifinals of a tag team tournament. However, WCW ended their collaboration with Ahmed shortly after their loss, partly due to his weight gain.
Later Life
After leaving wrestling in 2003, Ahmed participated in tag team matches in the Maximum Pro Wrestling show in 2003, but his team was defeated. It is worth mentioning that Norris is married and has a son and a daughter.
