Alistair Moffat: British Stuntman and Record-Breaker

Rise to Stardom

Alistair Moffat, a renowned British professional racer, stuntman, and record-holder, has achieved global acclaim for his exceptional driving and parking skills. The Gloucester native, known as "Alister Moffatt," first earned a coveted entry in the Guinness World Records alongside his younger brother, John.

Record-Breaking Stunt

On the set of the television show "Officially Amazing" in Stafford, UK, the brothers successfully broke the record for driving vehicles on two wheels through extremely narrow gaps. By taking turns, the drifting duo managed to squeeze through a 'gate' marked by two poles, accumulating a total distance of only 1.29 meters. The official measurement was taken by a judge, who subtracted the height of the cars from the distance between the poles. This feat surpassed the previous record of 1.3 meters set by Han Yue and Bao Tengjin of China.

Solo Record

Alister later appeared on another television program, "Daily Planet" on Discovery Channel Canada, where he attempted to better his own record. The professional racer arrived at Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green Airport in Bobbington, Staffordshire, facing challenging weather conditions, including strong gusts of wind. His Mini Cooper was unfortunately blown onto its side during his first attempt. Moffat explained the inherent dangers of performing side-by-side stunts, saying, "The car could roll or it could catch fire because it's not meant to be driven on two wheels like that." Undeterred, the stuntman regained his composure and executed a second attempt, resulting in a solo record of 44.5 centimeters. "From complete disaster to complete success in the same day!" exclaimed the Briton. "It's a bit surreal when you add up all the times you've broken the record. It's something I've always wanted since I was a little boy. I didn't think it would ever happen, but it did!"

Impressive Feats

Throughout his career, Moffat has accumulated numerous records, including the "tightest reverse parallel park." Driving his iconic Mini classic, Alister accelerated to 64 kilometers per hour, pulled the handbrake, spun 180 degrees, and smoothly slid into a space between two parked Minis. The stuntman managed to fit into a gap only 34 centimeters longer than his car, beating the previous record.

Passion for Cars

Moffat's passion for cars emerged at a tender age of eight when he first visited a karting track with his parents. By the age of 12, he had won his debut stunt competition and continued to excel, featuring in television shows and high-budget films.
