Alberto Valerio is a Brazilian racing driver who has competed in various motorsport championships throughout his career.
Early Career
Valerio began his racing career in the South American Formula 3 Championship from 2003 to 2005, where he achieved great success and won the title in his final year in the series. In 2004 and 2005, he also participated in some races of the Brazilian Formula Renault.
Move to Europe
In 2006, Valerio moved to the British Championship and finished eleventh in the overall standings. The following year, he joined Carlin Motorsport and improved upon his previous year's results, securing the eighth position in the championship.
GP2 Career
In 2008, Valerio signed a contract with Durango to compete in the GP2 Series as well as the GP2 Asia Series. However, he encountered several accidents in the races, leading to a disappointing season where he finished 26th without scoring any points. Despite this setback, he returned to the GP2 Asia Series for the 2008-09 season, replacing Giacomo Ricci in the Trident Racing team. However, he was subsequently replaced by Franck Perera after the third round.
Return to GP2
In 2009, Valerio made a comeback to the main GP2 Series, this time racing for the Piquet GP team alongside Roldan Rodriguez. It was at the Silverstone race that Valerio achieved his first victory not only in GP2 but also in any European series.
