Early Life and Family

Werner I, Count of Habsburg, was born as the son of Radbot, Count of Habsburg, and Ita. His father passed away in 1045, leaving behind a legacy of divided inheritance. Werner I shared the county of Habsburg and other territories with his brothers, Werner I, Otto I, and Albert I. All three held the title of Count of Habsburg.

Succession and Rule

Despite being the youngest son, Werner I emerged as the dominant figure among his siblings, with far fewer records remaining about his brothers. Around 1055, Otto was murdered, and Albert had already passed away before this date. As a result, Werner I became the sole proprietor of the entire county of Habsburg.
