Early Life and Education

Alexei Chadaev was born in Moscow on September 30, 1978. From 1988 to 1992, he studied at a church Sunday school, where he explored subjects such as Bible studies, liturgy, church history, Latin, and ancient Greek. Concurrently, he attended a literary studio called "Cypress Casket" and a computer club. In 1994, he graduated from secondary school.

In 1998, Chadaev graduated from the State Academy of Slavic Culture (GASK) with a Candidate of Cultural Studies degree. His dissertation topic was "The Impact of the Development of New Information Media on the Formation of Information-generating Subcultures."

Career in Journalism and Politics

Chadaev's journalism career began in 1993 when he became the executive secretary and later editor-in-chief of the magazine "Slavia." From 1995 to 1997, he worked as a system administrator at the company "Giprokommunvodokanal."

In 1996-1997, Chadaev chaired the GASK Student Scientific Society. From 1997 to 1998, he served as an advisor to First Deputy Prime Minister Boris Nemtsov, where he contributed to the development of the website nemtsov.ru. He led Nemtsov's internet group from October 1998 to March 2000.

Founder of the Fund for Research on Problems of Democracy

In 2007, Chadaev established the Fund for Research on Problems of Democracy, an organization dedicated to exploring issues related to democracy and governance.

Membership in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation

Chadaev was appointed as a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation in September 2005. He was re-appointed to the newly formed Public Chamber in 2007.
