Alena Kolomina: A Rising Star in Russian Film and Theater

Alena Kolomina is a Russian actress who has made a name for herself in both theater and film. Born in Luhansk, Ukraine on March 28, 1987, Kolomina's childhood was marked by an early interest in the arts.

Early Life and Education

Despite her parents' lack of involvement in the theater, Kolomina's passion for the stage led her to move to Kyiv, Ukraine to pursue a degree in performing arts at the Kyiv National University of Arts. She studied under the tutelage of S.N. Derkach. As a child, Kolomina's parents enrolled her in acrobatics classes, which laid the foundation for her future physicality in theater. She later excelled in diving, even becoming a Master of Sports.

Theater Career

In 2009, Kolomina joined the Moscow Experimental Spesivtsev Theater. During her two years with the company, she played leading roles in Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" and Valentin Rasputin's "Farewell to Matera." She also had the opportunity to work with the Kurazh Theater in Moscow, where she honed her skills in interactive children's performances. In 2012, Kolomina was invited to join the Hermitage Theater by its artistic director, Mikhail Levitin. To this day, Kolomina remains an active member of the troupe.

Film and Television

Kolomina's film debut came in 2009 with a minor role in the television series "Glukhar." However, it was her performance in the detective drama "Schubert" in 2018 that brought her widespread recognition. Kolomina played Lisa, a member of an operational team led by popular musician and composer Alexei Vorobiev, who possesses a unique ability to detect sounds that are inaudible to ordinary people. In 2018, Kolomina also starred in the acclaimed melodrama "Bereza" as Editha Tamm, an ambitious dancer from Tallinn.

Personal Life

In 2013, Kolomina married fellow actor Alexei Varushchenko. The couple welcomed their son, Pyotr, the following year.

Present and Future

Kolomina continues to balance her theater and film commitments. She is currently working on several projects, including the television series "Starushki v begakh" (2018) and the film "Takaya, kak vse" (2019). With her talent, versatility, and unwavering dedication to her craft, Alena Kolomina is poised for even greater success in the years to come.
