Biography of Alessandro Safina
Alessandro Safina, an Italian tenor, was born on October 14, 1963, in Siena, Italy. His passion for singing began at a young age, as he started studying music at the age of nine to pursue classical music. His idol was the legendary Enrico Caruso. However, Alessandro was also inspired by pop music, such as U2, Genesis, Depeche Mode, and The Clash. His desire to merge these two genres and bring classical music closer to people continued to grow.
When Romano Musumarra, a musician and composer, approached him with the song "La Sete Di Vivere," Alessandro immediately responded with enthusiasm. And when Musumarra heard Alessandro sing, all doubts were dispelled. His first opera album, which brought him popularity as an opera singer, was released in March 2000. It introduced his new style of music. The singer gained great popularity in the Netherlands, with his single "Luna" staying at the top of the charts for 14 weeks.
A concert in The Hague in January 2001, which was televised, further increased his already significant success. The Dutch audience was impressed by the great talent of the beautiful, charismatic tenor with his charming smile and warm sense of humor. In April of that same year, he gave another successful concert, this time in Amsterdam. His debut album "INSIEME TE" sold remarkably well in the Netherlands and achieved platinum status within a few months. The CD was released in 38 countries with a total circulation of over a million copies.
In addition to the Netherlands, Safina achieved great success in Brazil and Korea, where he performed as a guest during concerts by Barbara Hendricks and Sami Jo. In November 2001, Alessandro was one of the performing guests of Queen Elizabeth.
Shortly after his wedding in April 2002, Elton John and Alessandro recorded "Your Song" together. In February 2004, his concert premiered in Munich, leaving a lasting impression on the large German audience.
Alessandro Safina has a close connection with the Netherlands. He performed three consecutive sold-out concerts there. Currently, he is working on a new album set to be released on September 1, 2006.
