Early Life and Musical Beginnings
At the tender age of 17, a young and ambitious Alessandro Britti embarked on his musical journey by establishing his own blues-infused band.
Rise to Fame (1998)
Britti's star began to shine brightly in 1998 when his single "Solo una volta" soared to the top of Italian music charts.
Debut Album and San Remo Success (1998-1999)
October 1998 marked the release of Britti's official debut album, "it.Pop." Over 300,000 copies flew off the shelves. His triumph continued at the 1999 San Remo Festival, where he emerged victorious in the "newcomers" category with his song "Oggi sono io," which was later covered by the legendary Mina.
Continued Success and San Remo Presence (2000-2006)
Britti solidified his success with his sophomore album, "La vasca," released in 2000. Two of its singles topped Italian charts. The following year, he competed in the prestigious San Remo Festival's "Big" category, finishing in 7th place. Undeterred, he returned in 2003 with "7000 caffe" and clinched 2nd place. His third album, "3," followed shortly after.
In 2005, Britti released his fourth album, "Festa," featuring collaborations with Maurizio Costanzo on three songs. 2006 saw his third San Remo appearance, where he captured 3rd place with the captivating ballad "...Solo con te."
MTV Unplugged and New Releases (2007-2009)
A notable milestone in Britti's career came in 2007 when he performed in the second ever Italian edition of MTV Unplugged. His acoustic renditions of his greatest hits captivated audiences. The performance was released on DVD and CD+DVD in 2008.
Rounding out the decade, Britti released the single "Piove" in 2009, followed by his fifth album, ".23," in November of that same year.
