Biography of Alex Praer
Alex Praer, a 14-year-old composer, has already made a name for himself in the music world. Born in London, Alex's mother is Russian and his father is English. Although his parents don't often spend time together as a family, Alex and his mother frequently visit Russia, where his musical career is flourishing.
At a young age, Alex has already performed in prestigious concert halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Albert Hall in London, and the Kremlin Palace in Moscow. He has gained recognition as both a composer and a performer, impressing audiences with his talent and passion for music.
Alex's love for music started at a young age, and he draws inspiration from a variety of sources. One of his recent works is a ballet adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book," which premiered at the Classical Ballet Theater under the direction of Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasiliev. When asked about his interest in the story of Mowgli, Alex mentioned his fascination with the philosophical ideas conveyed in Kipling's work, as well as the concept of personal identity within a larger empire.

Alex's decision to study at the St. Petersburg Conservatory was prompted by an offer he received. Prior to that, he had been studying at the Royal College of Music in London, but felt restricted by the institution's pace of learning.
While Alex's parents have different professions - his mother is a theater expert, and his father is an ecologist with a preference for Bob Dylan's music - they have both come to support Alex's musical pursuits. His father, in particular, was initially opposed to his son's involvement in classical music but has since come around.
Alex's family also includes a turtle and two dogs - an American Spaniel named Dusya and a Royal Poodle named Hattie. He considers Dusya to be like his daughter and cherishes her companionship.
As a descendant of Konstantin Stanislavski, a famous Russian theatrical figure, Alex initially found pride in his family lineage. However, he now views it more as a responsibility than a privilege, understanding the need to forge his own path as Alex Praer rather than following in the footsteps of others.
While he may have a mature and refined demeanor, often seen in his preference for formal attire like a tailcoat, Alex is still a teenager with simple interests. He enjoys taking walks, spending time in nature, and rowing on calm waters near their countryside house in Marlow, which is situated near a large lake.
Upon his arrival in Russia, Alex was captivated by the genuine and kind-hearted nature of the people. He believes that most Russians possess a pure and sincere soul, which he finds lacking in many other places.
Although he finds St. Petersburg to be a breathtakingly beautiful city, reminiscent of the great composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, his first encounter with Russia was through Moscow, which he considers his true home. He has a deep affection for iconic landmarks like the Kremlin, Christ the Savior Cathedral, and the Spaso-Andronikov Monastery. However, he has an even stronger affinity for ancient Russia and its untouched nature, as seen in cities like Pskov, Staraya Ladoga, and Suzdal.
Religion plays an important role in Alex's life, as he considers himself both an Anglican and an Orthodox Christian. He was baptized in the Anglican Church but identifies more closely with the Orthodox faith.
When asked whether he sees himself as English or Russian, Alex confidently declares that he is undoubtedly Russian. He believes that his soul is deeply connected to Russia and its culture.
As for his future plans, Alex envisions a career that encompasses the world, but with a special focus on Russia. He hopes to make a lasting impact on the music industry and continue to nurture his passion for composing and conducting.
