Biography of Alex Vidal

Alex Vidal, an Spanish designer and owner of the women's clothing brand 'Alex Vidal', was born in Valencia in 1980. He pursued his craft at the Guerrero School in Barcelona, where he learned the skills that would later define his career. Following his education, Vidal traveled to Paris to work under the guidance of Leo Marciano, and later moved to Milan to join the design team at 'Blumarine'. It was in Milan that he had the opportunity to become part of the Valentino design team.

In 1980, Vidal established his own company in Valencia through a collaboration with the textile company 'Cadena', where he worked as a designer. Two years later, in 1982, he opened his first 'Alex Vidal' boutique in Valencia, followed by two more stores in 1992 and 1998. In 1983, Vidal presented his first collection under his own name, showcasing a complex, sensual, and urban style that remains a hallmark of his designs. From that point on, Vidal focused solely on creating his own collections and participating in international exhibitions in Madrid, Portugal, and Paris.

In 2000, Vidal introduced his first couture collection, simply titled 'Alex Vidal Couture'. His creative talents extend beyond fashion, as he has also designed uniforms for the airline companies 'Iberia and Aviaco' in 1982, as well as dressing the staff at the 'Feria de Valencia' conference center. Vidal's work has been featured in exhibitions such as 'Films in Fashion', drawing inspiration from the movie 'Models', and his piece 'Agua sin ti no soy' was showcased at the third Valencia Bienal. Additionally, he has designed costumes for the play 'La esposa constante'.

Throughout his career, Alex Vidal has received numerous professional awards and accolades, including the 'Intercoiffure Gold Star' and the 'Nova 2005 Prize for Fashion and Accessories'. In the fashion industry of Valencia, Vidal is considered a driving force, working closely with the 'Prêt-à-Porter Association' of the region, where he holds the position of Vice President and is one of the founders. In 2004, construction began on his 'Integral Fashion Building' in the center of Valencia, which would later house the headquarters of his business group.
