Alexa PenaVega is an American actress and singer, best known for her role in Robert Rodriguez's "Spy Kids" trilogy, as well as her appearances in films such as "Sleepover," "Machete Kills," "The Perfect Game," and "Spare Parts."

She was born on August 27, 1988, in Miami, Florida. Her mother is American, while her father is Colombian. Alexa has two sisters, Mackenzie Vega, who is also an actress known for her roles in "Saw" (2004) and "Sin City" (2005), and Krizia Vega, born on July 1, 1990. She also has two step-sisters, Margaux Vega (born on December 25, 1981) and Greylin James (born on September 22, 2000), and a step-brother, Jet James (born on October 4, 2005).

The Vega family lived in Florida, but when Alexa was four years old, they moved to California, where her mother found a job in a tourist agency. Currently, Alexa resides in Los Angeles with her mother Gina Rue, step-father Eric James, brother, and three sisters.
Alexa has a passion for river fishing, is fluent in Spanish, and is also a skilled gymnast. She is a Christian.
Early Career
Alexa's career as a film actress began in 1990 when her mother took her to an audition for the TV series "Evening Shade" (1990-1994). At the age of four, she immediately landed the role of Emily Newton. This marked the beginning of her successful acting career.
During the 1990s, Alexa appeared in various TV shows and films, including "Chicago Hope" (1994-2000), "ER" (1994-2008), "Little Giants" (1994), "All That" (1994-2005), "Nine Months" (1995), "It Was Him or Us" (1995), and "Promised Land" (1996).
In 1996, Vega played the role of Jo Harding in the film "Twister" (1996) and portrayed a young Helen Hunt in a scene where a tornado takes away her father.
