Early Life and Education

Oleksandr Abramenko was born into a family of athletes in Mykolaiv, Ukraine. His father was a boxer, while his mother was a gymnast. From a young age, Abramenko showed immense passion for skiing. He honed his skills at the local winter sports academy and later graduated from the Mykolaiv National University of Shipbuilding.

Olympic Journey

Abramenko made his Olympic debut at the 2010 Vancouver Games, where he finished seventh in the aerials competition. He also competed in the 2014 Sochi Olympics, placing 13th.

Breakthrough and Olympic Gold

In 2018, Abramenko achieved the pinnacle of his career by winning the gold medal in aerials at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. His historic victory marked the first Olympic gold medal for Ukraine in any Winter Olympic event.
