Oleksandr Babych: Ukrainian Footballer and Coach

Oleksandr Babych, a renowned Ukrainian footballer, began his career as a defender. Before joining FC Chornomorets Odesa in January 2009, he played for various teams, including Kremin, Dnipro-2, Dnipro-3, Polifhraftekhnika, Anzhi Makhachkala, and Metalist Kharkiv.

Captaincy and Career End

Babych's exceptional performance led to his appointment as captain of FC Chornomorets Odessa on July 15, 2010. However, his career was cut short due to an injury, forcing him to retire from football in March 2012.

Transition to Coaching

Undeterred by his retirement, Babych pursued a coaching career. He enrolled in the Football Federation of Ukraine's licensing courses. From April to November, he underwent rigorous training and obtained a UEFA Category A coaching license. This qualification allows him to serve as a head coach for teams in all divisions except the Premier League.

Appointment as FC Chornomorets Coach

On December 16, 2014, Babych was appointed as the interim head coach of FC Chornomorets Odessa. This appointment came after the previous head coach, Roman Hryhorchuk, terminated his contract.
