Biography of Alexander Bard
Early Life and EducationAlexander Bard was born on March 17, 1961, in Medevi, Motala Municipality, Sweden. He grew up to become a Swedish musician, singer, composer, poet, music producer, sociologist, owner of one of the largest internet companies in Sweden, cyber philosopher, and Zoroastrian.
Rise to Fame
Bard gained widespread recognition as a member and songwriter of the group Army of Lovers. However, when Army of Lovers faded away and its members started to be forgotten, Bard formed a new project called Vacuum in 1996. The group released the single "Living In A Fantasy," which gained popularity in Sweden. Bard later formed the group Bodies Without Organs (BWO) and released the single "Living In A Fantasy" in 2004.
Current Projects
Currently, Bard is working with the group Gravitonas. In addition to his music career, Bard pursued education in the United States and Amsterdam. From 1984 to 1989, he attended the Stockholm School of Economics. Apart from his studies in economics, Bard had a keen interest in philosophy and social theory. He aspired to become a writer, philosopher, and lecturer.
Author and Philosopher
Bard, along with Jan Söderqvist, a media theorist, has co-authored five books. Their books include "Netocracy: The New Ruling Elite and Life After Capitalism," "The New Global Empire," "Kroppsmaskinerna" or "Body Machines," "Syntheism: Creating God in the Internet Age," and "Digital Libido: Sex, Power, and Violence in the Network Society." The first three books are collectively known as the "Futurica Trilogy." "Netocracy" has been translated into 16 languages and gained significant success worldwide.
Philosophical Vision
Bard and Söderqvist introduce the concept of Netocracy, which represents a new virtual aristocracy where information holds greater value than money. Their "Futurica Trilogy" explores globalization and virtualization of society, predicting the internet revolution. All of Bard and Söderqvist's works revolve around the era of digital technologies, where they develop a new metaphysical system and offer their philosophical vision of the future society.
