Alexander Cherkasov Biography

Alexander Cherkasov, the General Secretary of Shakhtar Donetsk, has been involved with the club since 2003. Born and raised in Ukraine, Cherkasov graduated with honors from the History Department of Donetsk State University. He initially worked as a teacher of history and law.

Cherkasov began his career at Shakhtar as a senior secretary and later became the secretary of the club's supervisory board. In 2006, he was appointed as the club's General Secretary, a position he currently holds.

Aside from his work at Shakhtar, Cherkasov enjoys spending his free time fishing. He considers his wife Natalia to be his best friend, whom he met during their first year at university. They recently celebrated their 20th anniversary together.
