Early Life and Education

Alexander Dombrvsky was born in 1959. He graduated from Kalinovskaya Secondary School No. 3 in 1979 and entered the Vinnytsia Polytechnic Institute, graduating with honors in 1984 with a degree in automation and telemechanics.

Political Career

Mayor of Vinnytsia

In 2002, Dombrovsky was elected Mayor of Vinnytsia, defeating his opponent by a significant margin. He served in this role until 2005.

Governor of Vinnytsia Oblast

In February 2005, Dombrovsky was appointed Governor of Vinnytsia Oblast by President Viktor Yushchenko. He was the only governor to retain his position throughout Yushchenko's presidency.

Member of Parliament

In 2012, Dombrovsky was elected to the Verkhovna Rada as an independent candidate. He served as a non-aligned member of the Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations. In 2014, he was re-elected as a member of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, becoming the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Fuel and Energy.

Education and Academics

In 2003, Dombrovsky earned a second higher education degree in international monetary and credit relations from the Institute of International Relations at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In 2004, he defended his candidate dissertation at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations, obtaining a PhD in economics.

Personal Life

Dombrovsky is married to Irina and has two children, Andrey and Tatyana.
