Early Life and Education
Alexander Julian was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on February 8, 1948. After graduating from the University of North Carolina in 1969, he began designing clothes independently.

Career in Fashion
In 1975, Julian established his eponymous brand, "Alexander Julian," in New York City. He debuted his first menswear collection the same year. Over the following years, he expanded his offerings to include womenswear, children's lines, and knitwear collections.
Awards and Accolades
Julian has been honored with numerous awards for his fashion designs, including:
Five "Coty American Fashion Critics Awards" (1977, 1979, 1981, 1983, 1984)
