Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia
Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia, born in 1945 in London, is the only son of King Peter II and the heir to the Serbian throne.
Early Life and Education
Due to the fact that Alexander was born outside of Yugoslavia, the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill temporarily declared the hotel room where Alexander was born as part of the territory of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia to ensure his eligibility for the throne. Alexander attended the private school Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland and later became a captain in the Royal Air Force.
Family Life
Alexander has been married twice and has three sons: Peter, Philip, and Alexander. He currently resides in the Royal Palace (Kraљevski Dvor) in Dedinje, Belgrade.
Beliefs and Political Views
Prince Alexander is a staunch advocate for the restoration of the monarchy in Serbia, believing that it can provide unity and stability. He is supported in this by the Serbian Orthodox Church, which views the monarchy as a spiritual and cultural symbol.
Military Service and Decorations
As a captain in the Royal Air Force, Alexander received the General Service Medal.
