Born in 1959 in the Belarusian village of Rossiy Seletz, Aleksandr Mikhaylovich Kosinets embarked on a remarkable career in both medicine and politics.
Medical Accomplishments
After graduating from the Vitebsk State Medical Institute in 1982, Kosinets held various academic positions at the university. In 1993, he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation, earning the title of Doctor of Medical Sciences. His research focused on preventing and treating post-operative complications in abdominal surgery. From 1995 to 1997, he headed the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Infection and Surgery.
University Leadership
Kosinets's academic leadership skills were evident during his tenure as Rector of the Vitebsk State Medical University from 1997 to 2005. He oversaw the university's growth and development, fostering a collaborative research environment.
Political Career
Kosinets's foray into politics began in 2005 when he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus. In 2007, he earned a Master's degree in economics from the Belarusian State University. His administrative abilities were recognized in 2008, when he became Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
Kosinets's political prominence continued when he was appointed Head of the Belarus President's Administration in 2014. He served in this position until 2016. Throughout his political career, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to economic development and social welfare.
