Alexander Levin's Business Acumen
Alexander Levin is a renowned businessman who has made significant contributions to the business landscape in Ukraine. In 1994, he returned to Ukraine and embarked on various development projects. He held the position of Director at "Kyiv-Donbas" and "Kyiv Zhytlo Invest Management." From 2007 to 2012, Levin served as a shareholder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of KDD Group N.V., a construction company within the "Kyiv-Donbas" holding. As of December 2011, he owned 22.63% of KDD Group's shares. Currently, he holds a position on the Supervisory Board of the "Ukrainian Construction Association."
Philanthropy and Community Involvement
Levin is deeply engaged in philanthropic activities and community service. Since 2010, he has led the Kyiv Jewish Religious Community (Brodsky Central Synagogue). He also serves as the Head of the Supervisory Board of the "Babyn Yar Remembrance Fund." In 2012, he became the President of the Israeli National Fund "Keren Hayesod" in Ukraine. Notably, in 2012, Levin was elected President of the World Forum of Russian-Speaking Jewry (WFRSJ) by representatives of Russian-speaking Jewish communities from the USA, Israel, Ukraine, Canada, and Germany.
Babyn Yar Memorial Complex
As the Head of the Supervisory Board of the "Babyn Yar Remembrance Fund," Levin played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Babyn Yar Memorial Complex. On October 3, 2011, the ceremonial foundation stone for the complex was laid. The project aims to create a museum, exhibition spaces, a yeshiva, an Avenue of the Righteous Among the Nations, a park with a water body, and parking for tourist vehicles. The complex aims to recreate the wartime atmosphere using special effects.
Awards and Honors
Levin has been recognized for his outstanding contributions. In 2007, he received the Order of the All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress with Rabbi Berl Lazar for his contributions to the development of the Jewish community in Kyiv. In 2013, he was honored with the "Man of the Year" award during the convention of Chabad rabbis in Jerusalem.
