Early Life and Education
Alexander Zimovsky was born on January 10, 1961, in Germany. After serving in the Soviet Army from 1979 to 1984, he began his studies at the Lviv Higher Military-Political School's Faculty of Military Journalism. He later transferred to the Faculty of Banking at the Polesie State University and graduated in 2007.
Journalism Career
Zimovsky's journalism career began with roles at various newspapers and magazines, including "Delovoy Vestnik," "Chelovek i Ekonomika," and the "National Economic Newspaper." He also worked as a correspondent and political observer for the Belteleradiocompany's television news service. From 1995 to 2001, he hosted the popular analytical program "Resonance" on Belarusian television.
Television Executive
In the early 2000s, Zimovsky held several executive positions in the television industry. He served as Deputy Chairman of the National State Television and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus from 2000 to 2002, and became General Director of OJSC "Stolichnoye Televideniye" in 2002.

Zimovsky was appointed Chairman of the National State Television and Radio Company of Belarus on December 22, 2005, a position he held until December 28, 2010. During his tenure, he strongly supported President Alexander Lukashenko's policies, leading to sanctions against him by the United States and the European Union in 2006.
Political Career
Zimovsky served as a deputy in the Council of the Republic, the upper house of the Belarusian parliament, from 2004 to 2008. He was a member of the Standing Commission on Economy, Budget, and Finance.

Since 2011, Zimovsky has resided in St. Petersburg, Russia, where he works as a media consultant. He founded the website "inosmi.by" in the same year, which provides translations of articles from foreign media outlets into Russian.
