Alexander Abt - Russian Figure Skater
Alexander Abt was born in Moscow and began figure skating at the age of six. He initially trained under Sergey Volkov and later under Raphael Arutyunyan. Despite facing numerous injuries throughout his career, Abt went on to achieve significant success in the sport.
Career Achievements
Abt's first notable achievement came in 1998 when he won the bronze medal at the European Championships. In 2002, he secured the silver medal at the same event. He also consistently placed as a medalist at the Russian Championships.
Personal Life
In 1999, Abt married Russian figure skater Elena Pavlova. They welcomed their son, Makar, in March 2000. The family currently resides in the United States.
Life after Competitive Skating
After retiring from amateur competitive skating, Abt became highly sought-after for various shows in Europe, Russia, and Japan. In 2008, he participated in the Russian television show "Ice Age 2" on Channel One, where he performed alongside actress Anastasia Makeeva.
Acting Career
In the same year, Abt played the role of Maxim Voronin, a figure skater, in the series "Hot Ice," which depicted the behind-the-scenes world of professional skating, love, betrayal, and friendship. The series also featured renowned figure skaters such as Alexei Yagudin, Irina Slutskaya, Roman Kostomarov, and Alexei Tikhonov.
