Early Life and Education
Alexei Ivanovich Dontsovwas born on October 15, 1949, in Lviv, Ukraine. In 1972, he graduated from the Faculty of Psychology at Moscow State University (MSU). After completing his postgraduate studies in 1975, he joined MSU as a lecturer.
Academic and Professional Career
Head of the Department of Social PsychologyIn 1989, Dontsov became the Head of the Department of Social Psychology at MSU. He held this position until his retirement.

From 2001 to 2007, Dontsov served as the President of the Russian Psychological Society.
