Childhood and Early Life

Born on February 16, 1916, in the village of Ermoltino in the Nekrasovsky district of the Yaroslavl region, Boris Ivanovich Grebnev was the son of a farmer.

Military and Post-War Career

During the Great Patriotic War, Boris Grebnev served with distinction. Following the war, he worked in state security before transitioning to administrative roles at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Filmmaking Career

Борис Grebnev began his filmmaking career in 1942, directing and writing screenplays for the Kyiv Educational Film Studio. He later held leadership positions at Uktelefilm and Ukrtorgreklamfilm Studios.

Film Production

Throughout his career, Boris Grebnev helmed approximately 14 educational films, including "In the Native Home," "Heading towards Automation," "The Roads of Taras," and "Following the True Compass." He also authored several plays and screenplays for documentary and popular science films, collaborating on the "Atom Helps Us" documentary, which received the prestigious Lomonosov Prize.

Honors and Recognition

For his contributions to the film industry, Boris Grebnev received the Order of the Red Star and various medals. He was a respected member of the Cinematographers' Union of Ukraine.

Legacy

Boris Ivanovich Grebnev passed away on March 13, 1988, in Kyiv, leaving behind a legacy as a talented organizer of film production and a dedicated supporter of the Ukrainian film industry.
