Early Life and Training
Born to Ukrainian parents in Australia, the pianist received his initial training under renowned pianist Viktor Makarov. His exceptional talent was recognized early on when he won first place in the junior category (under 14) at the inaugural Vladimir Horowitz International Piano Competition in Kyiv in 1995.
International Achievements
In 1999, he placed second in the middle category (under 19) of the same competition. That same year, he had the distinguished honor of performing for US President Bill Clinton during his first visit to Ukraine.
Migration to Australia
In 1998, the pianist relocated to Australia and pursued his studies at the Sydney Conservatorium under the tutelage of Gerard Willems. He earned his Master of Music degree in 2005.
Concert Career
The pianist has established a successful concert career throughout Australia, performing both solo and ensemble repertoire. Notable performances include a concert featuring all of Frédéric Chopin's scherzos at the Sydney Chopin Festival in 2003. He has also collaborated with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Vladimir Ashkenazy, performing Sergei Rachmaninoff's First Piano Concerto.
Recording Debut
In 2009, the pianist released his debut album featuring works by Mozart, Schubert, and Rachmaninoff. This recording showcased his exceptional artistry and technical brilliance.
