Oleg Akkuratov is a Russian pianist, composer, jazz improviser, and singer who has captivated audiences worldwide with his virtuoso piano playing and unique vocal style. Despite being blind from birth, he has overcome adversity to achieve great success as a performer and educator.

Early Life and Childhood

Born on October 21, 1989, in the Krasnodar region of Russia, Akkuratov's early years were marked by his blindness, diagnosed as amaurosis. However, this did not hinder his passion for music. Blessed with exceptional hearing and musical memory, he began playing the piano at a tender age.

Musical Education and Training

Recognizing his exceptional talent, Akkuratov was admitted to the Yeysk Music School, followed by the Armavir Special School for Blind and Visually Impaired Children. Upon graduating, he pursued higher education at the College of Pop and Jazz Art in Moscow, under the tutelage of renowned jazz pianist and composer Mikhail Okun. He later transferred to the Rostov Conservatory named after Sergei Rachmaninoff, where he studied under Professor Vladimir Daich.

Performance and Recognition

Akkuratov's professional career began during his student years. He shared the stage with legendary opera singer Montserrat Caballé and performed for Pope Benedict XVI in the United Kingdom. In 2005, he embarked on international tours with renowned orchestras, showcasing his exceptional abilities.

In 2009, Akkuratov's life was documented in the film "Painted Twilight," directed by the acclaimed actress Lyudmila Gurchenko. The movie depicted his musical journey and served as Gurchenko's directorial debut.
