Early Life and Education

Oleksiy Honcharuk was born on July 7, 1984, in Ukraine. He completed secondary school in Horodnia, Chernihiv Oblast. From 2001 to 2006, he studied at the Institute of Law named after Prince Vladimir the Great, MAUP, where he earned a Master's degree in law. He later graduated from the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine.

Legal and Business Career

Honcharuk began his legal career as a junior lawyer at the JSC Horodniansk Plant of Food Products. From 2005 to 2006, he worked as a lawyer at the Kyiv investment company PRIOR-Invest, later becoming head of its legal department.

In 2008, Honcharuk founded the law firm Constructive Lawyers, specializing in legal services for investment and construction financing. He also headed the All-Ukrainian Public Organization "Association of Assistance to Affected Investors" from 2009. Additionally, Honcharuk served as deputy general director of the First Ukrainian Industrial-Investment Company.

Political Involvement

Honcharuk entered politics in 2014, running first in the parliamentary elections as number one on the party list of the "People's Power" party. He left parliament in 2018. He worked as an advisor to the first vice prime minister, minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine, Stepan Kubiv, and as a non-staff advisor to the former minister of ecology and natural resources.

Government Service

In September 2015, Honcharuk established and led the independent expert-analytical center, the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO), which aimed to develop and implement effective regulatory systems in Ukraine.

On May 28, 2019, President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Honcharuk as deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, where he was responsible for "economic development and continuation of reforms" within the president's team. He was subsequently appointed as a member of the National Investment Council on June 21, 2019, and deputy head of the Office of the President on June 25, 2019.

Prime Ministership

On August 29, 2019, Honcharuk was appointed as the Prime Minister of Ukraine. He was one of six candidates considered for the position, including Vladislav Rashkovan, Oleksandr Danylyuk, Aivaras Abromavičius, Andriy Kobolyev, and Yuriy Vitrenko.
