A German-Ukrainian Pianist
Born in Ukraine, the musician relocated to Germany at the tender age of three. His musical journey commenced in Passau before continuing in Berlin under Martin Hughes' tutelage. He currently pursues his studies at the University of Music, Drama and Media Hanover under the guidance of Karl-Heinz Kämmerling.
Accolades and Recognition
The pianist has garnered numerous accolades in prestigious international competitions. In 2006, he emerged victorious in the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition. The following year, he received the Audience Favorite Award at the Beethoven Competition in Bonn, where jury chairman Pavel Gililov lauded his rendition of Beethoven's Sonata No. 31 as "grandiose." He also secured second prize in the 2009 International Piano Competition in Leeds.
International Debut
Gorlach made his debut performance in New York City in 2007, eliciting the following review from The New York Times: "A Maturity Beyond His Years."
