Biography of Alexey Shamanov
Alexey Nikolaevich Shamanov is a Russian writer, novelist, poet, prose writer, and playwright. He was born on August 12, 1959, in the village of Aleksandrovka, Krasninsky District, Lipetsk Oblast.
Works
Shamanov has written a collection of poems titled "Self-Portrait in a Landscape," a collection of children's stories called "Class Slipper," and novels such as "Ten Blacks" (published in the collection "New Irkutsk Wall," 2004) and "Collection of Reflections." His works have been published in various magazines and anthologies, including "Continent," "Arion," "Day and Night," "Green Lamp," "Siberia," and "Irkutsk Time."
Achievements
In 2001, his three one-act plays were performed in the Irkutsk A. Vampilov Youth Theater in a play called "Labyrinths of Dreams." Shamanov is also a laureate of the Sergei Ioffe Prize, established by the City Hall of Irkutsk and the Irkutsk branch of the Writers' Union. His novel "Collection of Reflections" was longlisted for the Russian Booker Prize in 2006.
