Early Life and CareerGeneral-Major Ivan Larionovich Gusakovwas born on October 10, 1900, in the village of Keleberda, Poltava region. He joined the Red Army on March 1, 1922.
Roles in Major Conflicts
Soviet-Finnish War:Gusakov participated in the Soviet-Finnish War as part of the 56th Rifle Corps.
Great Patriotic War:During the Great Patriotic War, Gusakov held various leadership positions. From June 18 to September 20, 1941, he was the Chief of the Political Department of the 44th Rifle Corps. In the summer of 1942, he became the Commissar of the 314th Rifle Division. From October 1942 to November 1943, he served as a member of the Military Council of the 58th Army. From January to December 1944, he was a member of the Military Council of the 7th Army. Finally, from December 1944 until the end of the war, he was a member of the Military Council of the 9th Guards Army.

General-Major Gusakov passed away on October 4, 1974, in Moscow. He was laid to rest at the Kuntsevo Cemetery. Gusakov's contributions to the Soviet military during some of its most significant conflicts left an indelible mark on Russian history.
