Alfred Moton: A Tragic Tale of Domestic Violence and Murder

The Incident

In a horrific act of domestic violence, Alfred Moton, a resident of Pennsauken, New Jersey, opened fire on his three sons, killing two and critically wounding the third. The incident began on Thursday evening when concerned citizens reported a shooting victim on Beacon Street. Police arrived to find a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the chest. Shortly after, an 18-year-old victim was discovered nearby on Henwood Avenue, suffering from fatal injuries.

Discovery of Moton's Location

As police investigated the shootings, a report of a fire on Royal Avenue, just a block away from the initial incident, sent them racing to the scene. At the rear of the burning house, they encountered Moton, who was armed with a lighter, a gasoline can, and a handgun.

Confrontation and Moton's Death

Moton immediately attacked the three officers who had confronted him. Despite his numerical disadvantage, Moton was quickly subdued and shot dead by police. Inside the house, police discovered a third victim, a 14-year-old boy, who had been killed. An elderly man was also present in the house but was unharmed.

Victims and Suspect

The teenager who had survived the shooting, Charles Moton, was transported to Cooper University Hospital in serious but stable condition. The two victims who had died were identified as AJ Moton and Stephen Moton, Alfred Moton's eldest and youngest sons, respectively.

Motive and Aftermath

The motive for Alfred Moton's actions remains unknown. Police have not released any additional information about the circumstances leading up to the shooting. Moton's death during the confrontation prevented him from facing charges for the murders, which would have likely resulted in a life sentence.
