Ali Fazal was born on October 15, 1986, in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, into a Muslim family. His parents divorced when he was 18, and he persuaded them to do so for the well-being of all. Fazal initially studied at La Martiniere College and later moved to The Doon School, a boarding school in Dehradun, where he first discovered his passion for acting through school plays. His breakthrough came with his performance as Trinculo in William Shakespeare's "The Tempest."
